The immediate area around
Robin Hoods Bay is particularly rich in places of interest. The walker
has ample opportunity of seeing the coastline on the Cleveland Way from
Staithes in the North via Whitby and Ravenscar to the bustling seaside
town of Scarborough in the South. The Danby Moors Centre has countless
walks for all ages and abilities from the easy 2-3 circular mile walks,
to longer challenges for the enthusiastic ramblers.

Rail enthusiasts can enjoy the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which runs from Pickering to Grosmont (now more well known for its location in the television series Heartbeat) although it is actually one of the last running steam engine railways left in the country. |

Many Abbeys and Priories are to be found in the area, not to mention stately homes and castles. Painters, sports groups, scout and guide organisations, cycling clubs and friends who just want to spend a few days together can all enjoy the facilities of The Old School House in Robin Hoods Bay. Should you require more information on what to do in the area we have an information leaflet which we would be glad to send you. |
